Proposition 65
In 1986,
California voters approved an initiative to address their
growing concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals. That
initiative became the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic
Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by its original name of
Proposition 65. Proposition 65 requires the State to publish a
List of
Chemicals
updated - (5/05) -
(click to download list) known to cause cancer or birth
defects or other reproductive harm.
Employers
with 11 or more employees
in the previous year -- except those in certain low-hazard
establishments in the retail, services, finance and real
estate sectors -- are required to maintain records of
work-related injuries and illnesses and post the summary of
their records for calendar year 2003
Citations,
Special Orders, Orders to Take Special Action and Notices of
No Violation:
Must be posted for a specified period of time when issued
following a Cal/OSHA inspection or action.
Notice available from Cal/OSHA only issued only after
an inspection.
Access
to Employee Medical and Exposure Records:
Must be posted by employers who have done exposure evaluations
to make these records available to the exposed employees per
requirements of Title 8, Section 3204.
